Bio

Mystress Fyre, Belva Stone has been manipulating fire since 2001. She is a self taught wonder who was determined to learn the art of spinning poi after seeing an amazing fire dancer at a party in San Francisco. She got herself a set of practice poi, returned to small town Canada and began the quest of learning the art of poi off the Internet...a dial up no less! After months of daily rigorous practice, many, many bruises, moments of utter frustration and countless hours of research, Belva felt ready to light up her first set of fire poi.

Life has never been the same since for this Canadian!

 In 2003 Belva formed a student dance troupe called Kabari. The following year was filled with performing at amazing events such as The Crucibles Fire Arts Festival and Fire Opera to name a few. Kabari was a huge success and big hit at every event they performed in!

  In the spring of 2004, Belva decided that she had reached her peak as one of the best teachers and performers in the area. She wanted to push herself to further heights as a fire performer so she went back to school...physical theater school that is ;0) She attended Dell'Arte International School of Physical Theater in Blue Lake CA for the following nine months and had the pleasure of studying different forms of ensemble based theater, one of which included Clowning!  Belva took to Clowning like a fish takes to water! She is now working on incorporating her Clowning into her fire performance!

Over the years, Mystress Fyre has traveled all over Western North America and beyond sharing her love of fire and poi with all that cross her path.
